Coors Autumn Series 1st Race

What a glorious day. The sound was packed as were Jennicliffe and Cawsand anchorages. The wind direction kept everybody guessing right up to the start. Well, the postponed start as a coaster exiting from the Cattewater inside the 5 minute signal allowed yet another change in start line and course. The wind on the final start line was 4 to 8 knots South Westerly with the first mark F Buoy. The outer distance mark was the attraction for all 12 participants as the gun went. Some sought to avoid the crush by tacking away out of the tidal run and bad air.
With the Topper GJW National series racing south of Melampas the gybe mark was an interesting sight for the lone paddle boarder. Then the Navy sent out HMS ECHO through Asia passage for a look see. Kindly all but one were let across to the West & South Malard marks, although some had to return to pass the right side of both. Another lesson learnt. Too much excitement for me, home to put my feet up.
