Covid 19 Update – Phase One Return
PYC Sailing Challenge Series
Our Sailing Offer this year has been seriously impaired with the impact of the Covid 19 Health Emergency. We have been continuously taking account of the updates issued by UK Government and Guidance from the RYA.
We now feel we are in a position to enter Phase One of our Return to Sailing Plan.
If there is sufficient support, it is intended to offer some competitive sailing on Friday Evenings, starting on Friday 19th June (governed by speed of competitor responses)
In the first instance we propose - A FREE TO ENTER timed ‘white sails’ Race.
First boat starting at 18.00 across our normal start line – PYC Flag pole Mountbatten Breakwater / West Mallard Start Line. Following a course promulgated on the afternoon of the race by E-mail and VHF.
Anticipated average duration 90 minutes.
Plym Yacht Club 2020 Notice of Race and Sailing Instruction will apply, along with any special subsequent promulgation's for this special series (will be available on PYC Website).
Simplified Race Management, start team numbers are restricted and will endeavour to perform the duties of the normal team of four or more. Therefore for clarification purposes we would ask that Boats record their own Start and Finish Times and submit via e-mail post race. Finish details such as boat in front and boat behind would also be useful.
Entry will be open to any member of a PPSA Affiliated Sailing Club
Initially we will offer Three Classes:-
Single Handed, Two Handed and Same Household
We will also refer in the first instance to the Latest PPSA Handicap list.
Latest Government Guidelines must be followed - RYA Guidance available on the RYA Website.
