Results & Prizes, Friday 27th May, PYC 2000 hrs.

Skippers and Observers (Free) are welcome.

Open to powerboats & yachts under engine, this is a navigational and tactical challenge where contestants predict in advance the time necessary to complete a predefined course in seconds. It is not a speed contest, it is better than that, as you will be pitting your wits and experience against time, tide and other contestant’s accuracy.

Each skipper chooses a fixed speed or engine rpm for their own boat which is comfortable and safe & within harbour limits. The objective is to complete the course in as close as possible time to the predicted time without using a clock or time piece, and without adjusting the throttle. The winner is the boat which has the lowest percentage time error, actual time v predicted time.

Each boat needs an independent Observer onboard to record start & finish times and watch for infringements. Observer Instructions will be available but just a notepad and timepiece is needed. Register your interest and we will try to allocate everyone to a boat.

Visit the PYC website – Cruising section for Instructions.
