PYC Long Distance Race

Saturday 7th May

Mountbatten was busy on and off the water before the start. The normal commercial traffic. Plenty of leisure boats all out to enjoy themselves. Spanish sail training vessel "Atyla" having a weekend lay over.

Paddy and Mike shared the race officer duties and decided on a trip round the Scilla marker buoy. Then back through the eastern entrance, Tinker to port and Finish. A good 8 to 9 North Westerly wind to start although forecast to fall away later.

The PH fleet got away clear although a few got caught by gusts out of the Tamar. The IRC fleet had all the drama at the pin end of the start. Three boats over the line and results being subject to protest at this time.
