Sunday 18th September 2022 at 1945hrs on Oreston Green.

We look forward to gathering as a Community to join the Nation in a 1 minute silence to pay our respects to the late Queen, Elizabeth II, as she lays in state awaiting her funeral.

As we all remember her, this small token will create a memorable moment for the Community, which will stay with many generations of Oreston forever.

A Piper will follow the Standard Bearer, leaving Quay News at 19:45 hrs, along the front of Oreston Green to the centre walkway. Where, at 20:00 hrs, a 1 min silence will be observed followed by the National Anthem and the laying of flowers.

The evening will conclude with the Piper returning to Quay News playing another memorable tune, adored by both the late Queen and Prince Phillip, played earlier this week at the request of the King, Charles III.

We hope you can join us to remember our beloved late Queen and make this sad event a truly memorable moment in the village’s history.
