5th Friday Night Race

Here we go again, another great evening of racing in Plymouth. Forecast of Northerly winds decreasing throughout the day. The signs were all there for a drift round and a slow finish. Only 3 knots just an hour before the start. The setting of a simple course from the start to Dunstone and back round the Mallards seemed to be the best option for all. Repeat three times. What happens, the wind increases steadily touching 8 knots. The sound is flat calm and a spectators race ensues.

The boats are within touching distance at each pass through the Mallards, and the cameras were clicking. Bear a thought for the solitary squib, they had a great sail round Plymouth Sound but no race. Anyway the mizzle is here in so I'm off to the club.

Just a shout out to Alan for being the first to press the reset switch on the compressor. So the sound signals at full volume, were able to compete with the sound checks on the Hoe. Joseph breathed a sigh of relief and went back to operating the computer.
