Address tae the Haggis
The sound of pipers rang through Langs House, the Haggis was being paraded before a packed dining room. Address tae the beast in its full, was given by Martin Jack assisted by Emily Jack. Sporting full dress, red Fraser tartan Martin was not the only person in full regalia on the night. The Irish contingent, not to be outdone, were represented by Paddy O’Connor with his full Ard Éireann dress tartan.
However the haggis out shone all and fully deserved its place as the centre piece of a superb traditional meal served by Kevin and his hard working team. After dining the lively assembly retired to the bar continuing their varied and wide ranging conversations. Finishing late all agreed a good evening had been had.
Started in 1801, formally or informally, the poetry and life of Rabbie Burns is celebrated round the world together with traditional Scottish dishes. The haggis being traditionally accompanied by mashed tatties (potatoes) and neaps (swede).
