Winter Welly Walk 2 – Radford – Staddiscombe

Sunday the 17th February dawned, The rain cleared and the intrepid Plym walking crew gathered in front of the gatehouse on the causeway between Radford and Hooe lakes.

After a quick set of photos the group set off up past Radford lake and across into Radford Woods taking a gradual climb through the nature reserve up toward a point between Staddon Heights and Court Gates Livery Stables. A brief stop for coffee and to regroup with the tail enders was in order before setting off across the wild west with horses roaming on both sides of our trail. I wondered, could these equine beauties be the same ones used for our recent Horse Racing Social event planned a few months ago...Probably not!

We dropped back down a lane to rejoin the nature reserve and, from the earlier damp conditions, its infamous skating boardwalk. With a few finding the boardwalk challenge a little like bambi on ice we successfully completed the loop back to the Causeway before splitting for a fabulous Roast Dinner back at Lang's House.
